PURPOSE

  1. To provide reasonable and effective means for identifying street address, business name, goods sold or produced, and services provided to the public.
  2. To regulate the size, location, and physical design of temporary and permanent signs.
  3. To protect against the adverse impacts of sign clutter and excessive and/or confusing signs.
  4. To promote legibility within the Town.

APPLICABILITY

  1. All new, reconstructed, altered, or relocated signs must comply with the standards of this section.
  2. All sign types require Small Project review before they may be constructed, reconstructed, altered, or relocated, with the exception of the address sign, which requires no permit but must follow the applicable standards.
  3. Signs not expressly authorized are prohibited.
