RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION] must consist of a minimum 5 members, all legal residents of the [NAME OF TOWN / CITY], appointed by the Board of Selectmen to serve staggered terms of 3 years.
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION] reviews and approves all applications for:
- Master Plan
- Subdivision Plan
- Special Permit
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION] may grant waivers of standards as explicitly permitted by this Code.
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION] reviews and approves applications in accordance with the Article 9 Modules.
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION] hears Administrative Appeals of decisions of the [PERMITTING AUTHORITY].
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION] provides advice and recommendations to the Board of Selectmen concerning the following:
- Proposed amendments to zoning text or maps of this Code.
- The laying out, alteration, relocation, or discontinuance of public ways and statutory private ways.
- The proposed conveyance of land to the Town.
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION], or its designee, is responsible for the authoring and periodical update of the Comprehensive Plan for the [NAME OF TOWN / CITY], and its subsequent adoption.
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION], or its designee, drafts the official map of the [NAME OF TOWN / CITY].
BOARD RULES
- The Planning [BOARD / COMMISSION] may adopt rules of procedure and policy as it may deem necessary to conduct its affairs, including but not limited to the following subjects:
- Rules and procedures governing applications, including required written and graphical information;
- Rules and procedures pertaining to the development review process;
- Rules and procedures governing the administrative compliance of zoning requirements;
- Rules and procedures for subdivision
- The adoption or amendment of rules of procedure and policy is conducted administratively at a public meeting.
