STANDARDS

  1. Gable ends must be located toward the narrowest building face or component face, except townhouses, live-work/ flex buildings, and bungalows must have a ridge beam that is oriented parallel with the frontage.
  2. Gambrel roofs must always set the chine  to be at least 8 ft but no more than 12 ft  higher than the eaves.
  3. The upper slope of gambrel roof must always be less steep than the lower slope.
  4. The roofs of rear additions and side wings may not exceed the roof pitch of the primary building to which they attach.
  5. Civic buildings are exempt from roof system regulation, the values presented in this table are guidelines only.
